The Chili Open February The Chili Open is one of the major fundraising events of the year. This 9-hole, 3-person scramble is usually held in February at Weatherwax Golf Course. Middletown Firefighters aide by collecting gallons of special recipie chili from Middletown area restaurants. Sponsorships for the event are welcome as well as hole sponsorships.

The Middletown Area Junior Match Play Championship This is one of the area's premier junior tournaments. Girls and boys are grouped by age and play a one-round qualifier before being paired into match play. Range balls, lunch and golf are provided each day. Awards are given to the champion and runner-up. Weatherwax Golf Course annually hosts this event.

The Dr. James L. Sawyer, Jr. Stroke Play Junior Championship This is a two-day stroke play even. The tournament is played at Weatherwax Golf Course. Girls and boys are divided into ages groups and awards are given to the champion and runner-up in each age division.

The Wadsworth Golf Charities Foundation donates a special grant for two junior camps geared toward at-risk children. Weatherwax Golf Course hosts these two weekly golf camps. Children are supplied with bags and clubs, caps, t-shirts and other teaching aids. Instruction includes all skill shots and on-course learning.

The Competition Series is three different events played at three different golf courses. They are flighted by age and gender with awards given to the winners in each flight. Hosting courses include Armco Parke, Forest Hills and Clear Creek.

The Chaney/Lansaw Challenge This event is an adult/junior scramble in memory of two of the founders of MAGYC, Dick Chaney and Greg Lansaw.
The MAGYC Instructional Clinic This is a half-day instructional program featuring a combined effort of seven to ten area golf professionals. Instruction focuses on full swing and various aspects of the short game.
